Carol W. and Julius A. Rippel Breast Center
The Carol W. and Julius A. Rippel Breast Center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including digital mammography, Mammotome stereotactic breast biopsy, specialized histopathologic marker assessment, lymph node mapping with sentinel node biopsy, MRI core biopsy and bone density testing. Treatment options include breast-conserving surgery, reconstructive surgery, adjuvant and neo-adjuvant chemotherapy, hormone therapy, biotherapy and radiation therapy, as well as new therapies being tested in national clinical trials.

Women's Cancer Center
At the Women's Cancer Center, a wide range of services are available to help women meet the physical and emotional challenges associated with uterine, ovarian and other gynecologic cancers. While treatment for these cancers may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, or any combination of these, our primary goal is to help women understand and manage their disease. The Center offers ovarian cancer genetics screening, an early detection program for cervical cancer, minimally invasive surgery for adnexal masses and gynecologic cancers, and participation in the Gynecologic Oncology Group trials – which gives patients access to the latest chemotherapy regimens and surgical protocols for the treatment of gynecologic cancers.

Peter B. Doherty Men's Cancer Center
The Peter B. Doherty Men's Cancer Center at Morristown Memorial offers comprehensive care for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancers. A multidisciplinary team of board-certified urologists, radiation and medical oncologists, radiologists and physicists work together to develop a treatment plan tailored to each patient's specific needs. The Men’s Cancer Center offers patients the latest technology including image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and minimally invasive robotic surgery.

Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Program
The Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Program provides coordinated care of patients with thoracic cancers – including lung, throat and larynx cancers – and facilitates the rapid diagnosis and treatment of these patients. Our state-of-the-art treatments include laser therapy, endobronchial-implanted brachytherapy, minimally invasive surgery for high-risk patients, video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), radiation and chemotherapy, as well as inclusion in national research studies on promising new drug regimens.

Multidisciplinary Clinics
The Multidisciplinary Clinics manage patients with all types of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary tumors, including esophageal, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectal, liver and pancreatic cancers. Patients are assigned to a nurse navigator and visit medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, often in the same day. The team meets after the consultation to discuss the case and offer the patients treatment options. Additional consultations are available from radiologists, pathologists, dieticians and other allied health care specialties when needed. Diagnostic and treatment protocols include neo-adjuvant therapy, advanced laparoscopy, radiofrequency ablation, endoscopic ultrasound and placement of hepatic artery infusion pumps.

Radiation Oncology
Radiation therapy may be used as a primary treatment for cancer, or in conjunction with other therapies. The Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Memorial provides the most technologically advanced radiation treatments available, including intensity-modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT); 3-D conformal external beam therapy; high-performance linear accelerators with multileaf collimation; image guided radiation therapy (IGRT); high dose rate radiation brachytherapy; low dose rate brachytherapy; and total body and total nodal irradiation.

Medical Oncology
In addition to our own facility, The Carol G. Simon Cancer Center houses two private practices – Hematology–Oncology Associates of Northern New Jersey and Oncology & Hematology Specialists, P.A. – where patients can also receive chemotherapy treatments, blood tests and treatment for blood disorders in a comfortable setting.

NJCEED
The New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED) Center at Morristown Memorial provides screening, education, outreach, case management, navigation and follow- up care for free or at reduced costs for qualifying residents throughout New Jersey with breast, prostate, colon and cervical cancers. This program is specifically for Morris County residents who meet specified financial criteria. However, NJCEED sites are located in all New Jersey counties. Find out more by calling NJCEED at Morristown Memorial Hospital at 973-971-5952 or toll free at 1-800-328-3838.

Clinical Research
The Carol G. Simon Cancer Center is enhanced by Atlantic Health’s partnership with The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, which gives our patients access to the latest innovative developments in the treatment of cancer. Patients may be eligible to participate in national clinical trials of new treatments, while remaining under the care of their primary physicians.

Hereditary Risk Assessment Program
The Hereditary Risk Assessment Program at Morristown Memorial is offered in collaboration with The Cancer Institute of New Jersey for individuals and families with a history of cancer. Our genetic counselor will collect personal medical and family history information and provide education about the genetics of cancer and the likelihood that the cancers in your family are hereditary. You will learn about genetic susceptibility testing, insurance issues, and other important information in a clear, confidential manner. Referrals to other health care professionals are provided as necessary.

Psychological Support Services
At any time during treatment, a social worker can assist patients or their family with any non-medical concerns related to their diagnosis, treatment or hospitalization, including financial assistance, health care resources, work-related issues and home care needs. In addition, counselors who are dedicated exclusively to cancer care are available to meet privately with any patient or family member to discuss concerns, fears or anxieties that may accompany a cancer diagnosis. For more information, please call 973-971-5169.

Mind Body Programs
Mind body therapies empower patients to take an active role in their healing and improve the quality of their lives. Meditation, stress reduction, guided imagery, yoga, Jin Shin Jyutsu, reflexology, hypnotherapy and Therapeutic Touch are just a few of the modalities used in the integrative programs.

Nutritional Counseling
Good nutrition is an integral part of healing and well-being. Sometimes cancer treatment may present a challenge to proper nutritional intake. Through instructional materials, group education and one-on-one counseling, our registered dietitian helps patients design an eating plan to meet their individual nutritional needs.

The Valerie Fund Children's Center
Established in 1976 as a non-profit volunteer organization, the Valerie Fund is dedicated to financially supporting a network of Children's Centers for cancer and blood disorders. These centers offer highly personalized, comprehensive medical care within regional hospitals throughout New Jersey, including the Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Memorial and the Goryeb Children’s Center at Overlook Hospital. Together, these centers form one of the largest and most advanced pediatric hematology/oncology networks of its kind in the country.
