Wilentz Cancer Center Cancer Care Close to Home This special oncology service, approved by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, provides Central Jersey residents with convenient, quality cancer services right in their own neighborhood, eliminating the need to travel to distant locations. Our comprehensive oncology program is designed to meet the complex medical needs of patients diagnosed with malignant diseases. Services address the entire spectrum of cancer, from prevention, treatment and rehabilitation to annual patient follow-up. They are provided under the highest standards established through our role as a Community Affiliate of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Community Outreach and Education The Jacqueline M. & Robert N. Wilentz Cancer Center has adopted a proactive approach to patient care management and is involved with many aspects of care, including community outreach and health education programs, reflecting our emphasis on preventive services and early diagnosis of cancer. Group activities are offered to patients, recovering cancer patients and their families to support the psychosocial needs of those diagnosed with malignant diseases. Free screenings and educational sessions, support programs and participation in one of the largest breast cancer prevention studies are just a few ways we are helping our community members cope with cancer.
