Genomic Instability and Tumor Progression ProgramProgram Leaders: Michael Reiss, MD and Zhiyuan Shen, MD, PhDOverall Goals: The overall goals of the newly established GITP are to uncover how genomic instability and cellular signaling pathways contribute to cancer invasion, dissemination and metastasis, and to identify new approaches to the prevention and treatment of cancer progression. Specific Aims:
Our expectation is that understanding the role of genomic instability and of critical signaling pathways in cancer progression will result in the development and clinical validation of novel therapeutic strategies for cancer. This will be greatly facilitated by ensuring seamless interactions between our two major research themes and the complementary focus groups within the Clinical Science Program. CALENDAR: Research Program Meetings, Distinguished Lecture Series, and other events for CINJ Members
