The New Jersey Family Medicine Research Network Shared Resource provides study design and implementation consultation and support services to CINJ members conducting practice-based, clinical, and population based translational research.

The Network Shared Resource provides CINJ investigators assistance with subject recruitment (both practice and patient), data collection, data management (qualitative and quantitative), and project management. It specializes in providing expert consultation on conducting cancer prevention and control research in primary care practices. The overall purpose of the resource is to support practice-based translational research.

The specific objectives of the shared resource are to:

  • Serve as a research laboratory for clinical trials testing the effectiveness of interventions to improve the quality of cancer care and health outcomes in primary care settings.
  • Provide observational data on primary care practice patterns and trends in NJ to facilitate identification of appropriate settings for research.
  • Provide technical assistance to CINJ members for design and implementation of practice-based research projects.
  • Provide and sponsor continuing professional education programs for disseminating the results of research conducted by CINJ investigators.
  • Serve as a Shared Resource for the management of all aspects of practice-based research projects.
