Thoracic Oncology Program

The Thoracic Oncology Program is a multidisciplinary program for cancer of the lung, pleura and medistinum. The healthcare team is comprised of a thoracic surgeon, radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, nurses and social workers who work together to treat patients with cancers originating in the chest and lung (small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer), mesotheliomas, thyomas and upper esophageal cancers.

Patients are evaluated for clinical needs and for surgical, radiation therapy and chemotherapy options as well as opportunities for participation in clinical trials. Multimodality treatments are planned together, and approaches for optimal local control and symptom treatments are designed.

We are actively involved in developing innovative approaches and participate in national and international studies.  In collaboration with our new drug programs we also work on bringing new agents into trials in thoracic cancer.
